Why it exists
Much of life is explained through categories, data, systems, and expectations. HTBN pays attention to the distance between those explanations and what people actually experience.
About
How To Be Nothing is human-centered new media.
We start with everyday human experience, then look closer at what shapes how we work, make a living, grow, relate, and live together.
Much of life is explained through categories, data, systems, and expectations. HTBN pays attention to the distance between those explanations and what people actually experience.
“Nothing” does not describe an absence of purpose. It makes room to look again before forcing a person, an experience, or a question into a ready-made conclusion.
What does it actually feel like to work with other people?
What does it take to feel secure and have enough?
How do we grow, change, and find where we belong?
How do we live alongside other people and the systems around us?
HTBN is built by a small team working across editorial, operations, partnerships, and communications.
